Gold for Tireless Pioneer in Sustainable Construction

Werner Sobek will be honoured with the IStructE Gold Medal 2024 for his innovative work on adaptive structures and his significant research into the contribution of construction to carbon abatement. Since 1922, the IStructE Gold Medal has been awarded to individuals who have made unique and outstanding contributions to the advancement of the construction industry.

Our founder will receive the prestigious award at a special awards ceremony on 23 September 2024 at IStructE’s headquarters in London. At the event, he will deliver a speech entitled “Building in a New World”.
