A Bridge that also Invites People to Linger
Werner Sobek planned the new crossing over Bettrather Straße in Mönchengladbach with separate areas for cyclists and pedestrians. In future, an aesthetically pleasing bridge made of recycled steel will replace the 130-year-old and increasingly dilapidated previous bridge made of concrete. The spacious footpaths are equipped with comfortable seating.
The joint project with GRBV Ingenieure im Bauwesen is scheduled for completion in 2025 – an animation already gives a preview of the new bridge and provides the most important information about the construction project.
