A Green Valley for Stuttgart – the Q20
On a total area of approx. 22 hectares, a new urban quarter is being developed on the site of the former freight station in Stuttgart-Bad Cannstatt: the NeckarPark. The new residential and commercial area offers residential units, commercial space, parks and squares. Part of this area is the “Q20” development site, designed by the architecture office caspar. Here, on approx. 8,500 m², a building ensemble with retail, hotel, gastronomy, office, fitness, etc. is being built. Characteristic of the design are the sloping inner sides of the buildings, which are largely covered with greenery. Challenging for the planning are not only the differently inclined sides towards the inner courtyard, but also the foundation in the medicinal spring protection area. More information on the project can be found here.
More information on the topic of green facades is provided by our expert Florian Starz in this video: . An episode of our podcast “Building the Future” is also dedicated to this exciting new development.
