Adaptive Systems – Research for the Built World of Tomorrow
Even before the publication of the book “Facade Design – Challenges and Future Perspective“, the publisher has made individual chapters available online. Under the title “Adaptive Textile Facade Systems “, our CEO Lucio Blandini and colleagues from the University of Stuttgart describe the latest developments in the field of textile facades.
The ILEK (Institute for Lightweight Design and Construction), led by Lucio Blandini, is researching the use of adaptive load-bearing structures and facades as part of the Collaborative Research Center SFB 1244. The aim here is to significantly reduce the consumption of natural resources as well as waste generation and pollutant emissions from the built environment.
