Al Wasl Tower Dubai

The architectural office UNStudio has designed in cooperation with Werner Sobek a new high-rise for Dubai which will have one of the world’s tallest ceramic facades in the world. The facade made out of clay and low-tech glazed ceramic elements provide shade and also reflect daylight deep into the tower’s interior.

The Al Wasl Tower is located along the famous Sheikh Zayed’s Road and directly opposite of Dubai’s landmark, the Burj Khalifa. The structural systems consist of a central concrete core plus outriggers on 4 levels. It is embedded harmoniously into the architectural design of the building while fulfilling all requirements with regards to safety, economy and ecology. An innovative building shape is combined with an efficient and economic load bearing structure.
