Alfredo Harp Helú Stadium
After three years of construction, the Alfredo Harp Helú baseball stadium − new home of the Diablos Rojos del México − was opened in the summer of 2019.
In the northeast of Mexico City, a new baseball stadium was built in an existing sports park for the local association „Diablos“. Adapted to suit the U-shaped ground plan of the baseball park the stadium hold approx. 16,000 visitors. The main load-bearing structure is spanned by a large, lightweight cantilevered roof suspended in a strict north-south orientation above the stadium and diametrically opposed to the alignment of the areas accommodating the spectators. Werner Sobek was responsible for the structural design of this special structure.
