Anniversary Celebration at the Mercedes-Benz Museum
30 years of Werner Sobek – 30 years of engineering, design and sustainability. In one of the most important and largest projects in our company history, the Mercedes-Benz Museum in Stuttgart, we were able to celebrate together with 300 colleagues on 30.9.2002. In addition to employees from all German offices, many colleagues from our foreign locations, such as Istanbul, Copenhagen, Dubai and Belgrade, also attended.
The anniversary celebration began with a short welcome by our four board members. Afterwards, our oldest employee and long-time quality manager Wolfgang Sundermann was bid farewell on a grand scale – he will be taking his well-deserved retirement in February 2023 after almost 30 years at Werner Sobek.
The absolute highlight of the evening was certainly the address by our company founder. In addition to some equally fascinating and entertaining insights into the beginnings of the company, Prof. Werner Sobek also spoke about the tasks that lie ahead – a topic that our CEO Roland Bechmann also made the focus of his celebratory speech. Despite all the pride in what we have achieved so far – gigantic challenges lie ahead of us all if we want to successfully manage the transformation of the building industry towards more sustainability by 2035.
