Architecture and Ethics: Climate and Emissions
How do the actions of planners affect us all – and what can (and should) they do to ensure that our environment is future-proof?
Architects, engineers and other actors in the building industry bear a great responsibility in shaping our environment – not only in an aesthetic sense. Their actions have a concrete impact on how liveable our cities are, what resources are taken from the earth and how our climate will develop in the future.
A new aed event series “Architecture and Ethics” is dedicated to the social responsibility of the building industry from different points of view. The first evening of the series will focus on the effect that emissions from our built environment have on climate change.
The climate commissioner of the city of Stuttgart Jan Kohlmeyer, Jobst Kraus from the Ecumenical Energy Cooperative Baden-Württemberg and our Berlin colleague Daniya Dölling will discuss this on 26 October 2023 at the Evang. Bildungszentrum Hospitalhof from 7 to 9 pm. Monika Renninger from the Hospitalhof and Dr. Frank Heinlein (aed e.V.) will be the moderators.
