Bridge Aalen Takes Shape
The first two elements for the footbridge over the railway tracks in Aalen were recently lifted into place. In a few days, the bridge will be completed with the lifting of two more elements. A special feature of this project is the installation of the structure during ongoing railway operations!
The new pedestrian bridge enables a direct connection of the Stadtoval area to the city centre of Aalen – an important prerequisite for the success of the new urban development measure. The Aalen municipal council selected Werner Sobek’s design for this exciting task.
The Stadtoval is one of the most important projects for the development of Aalen’s city centre in the coming decades. In the immediate vicinity of the main railway station, approx. 220 to 250 residential units, commercial areas, cultural facilities and open space with a high quality of stay will be created.
