Building with Single-Origin Materials – How does that Work?
Our founder Werner Sobek is the author of the preface to the manual “Sortenrein Bauen: Methode, Material, Konstruktion“, which was recently published by the Detail publishing house. The publication, which is well worth reading, is dedicated to the question of how we can make better use of our building stock as a material resource in the future through planning measures. The authors and publishers include Prof. Dirk E. Hebel, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Architecture at the KIT and – together with Werner Sobek and Felix Heisel – creator of the experimental unit UMAR in the NEST research campus of the Swiss Federal Laboratories for Materials Testing and Research (Empa) in Dübendorf, Switzerland.
