Concrete Spatial Structures: S21
For the current issue of the magazine “betonprisma”, our colleague Angelika Schmid, project manager for the structural design of Stuttgart’s new underground railway station, was interviewed. She explains how the unique load-bearing structure of the roof was planned – the so-called goblet supports provide natural lighting and ventilation for the new station, but due to their complex geometry they presented all those involved with completely new challenges. What is special about the goblet supports – and what role did engineering play in their realisation? You can find the answers in the latest betonprisma issue and also on our podcast “Zukunft bauen.“.
More information about the project can be found in our video.
