Construction Sector Produces too much Gaseous Waste
The automotive industry has long had to account for the emissions of its products. In the building industry, however, only the energy consumption during the use phase was relevant in the past decades – certainly an important reason why the building industry has meanwhile developed into the worldwide “market leader” in the emission of climate-damaging gases. Slowly, a rethink is also taking place on the part of politicians – but there is still a lot to do to actually bring about a comprehensive change in awareness.

Until the end of October 2022, the Architekturzentrum in the Stadtmuseum Düsseldorf is showing the exhibition “Werner Sobek: 17 Theses“. It deals with the ecological impact and responsibility of the building industry.
