Digital Interfaces in the Building Industry

Digital tools and techniques are playing an increasingly important role in the building industry, enabling the planning and realisation of highly complex structures. Prof. Lucio Blandini (Managing Director and Partner of Werner Sobek AG) talks about the opportunities of technical development and the innovative power of digital interfaces.

The Werner Sobek AG is one of several project partners working on the new research project DigitalTWIN. The objective of this research project is to develop digital tools and technologies in order to network and automate services, processes and procedures along the construction value chain from design to construction. A particular challenge is the changing competencies and responsibilities over the building life cycle. By further developing the digital interfaces, the DigitalTWIN research project creates an open platform architecture along the process chain.
