Digitalizing Design and Construction
Prof. Dr. Luco Blandini (managing director and partner of Werner Sobek AG) and Dr. Fabian Schmid (seele) provide insights into the DigitalTWIN research project.
Together with renowned project partners from industry and research, Werner Sobek is developing digital tools and techniques to network and automate services, processes and procedures along the entire value-added chain of the construction industry. DigitalTWIN – Digital Tools and Workflow Integration for Building Lifecycles – is primarily concerned with systemic dependencies and interactions between different phases in the life cycle of a building. The research partners therefore come from very different industries and fields of activity.
DigitalTWIN is funded by the Federal Ministry of Economics and Energy (BMWi) as part of the Smart Service World II funding programme. The Federal Government aims at securing Germany’s position as an efficient production and innovation location and therefore fosters the expansion of digital services in small and medium-sized enterprises.
Werner Sobek‘s research partners in the project are Carl Zeiss 3D Automation GmbH, Fraunhofer-Institut für Nachrichtentechnik, Heinrich-Hertz-Institut, planen-bauen 4.0 Gesellschaft zur Digitalisierung des Planens, Bauens und Betreibens mbH, se commerce GmbH and Telegärtner Karl Gärtner GmbH.
