FOUR – Frankfurt’s New District
A new urban quarter is being built in the heart of Frankfurt’s city centre. Based on a design by the architectural firm UNStudio, four high-rises are currently being built there, connected by a common base building. The high-rises are between 100 and 228 m high and form an important addition to the Frankfurt skyline.
The aim is to create a socially balanced neighbourhood: Some of the 600 flats being built are subsidised housing. In addition, there will be high-quality office space, hotels, restaurants and a public roof terrace. Werner Sobek’s services for this major project include structural design (in a joint venture with Bollinger + Grohmann), demolition statics, shoring design and special steel structures.
