Giant Lifts even Large Cargo Ships

In the new ship lift at Niederfinow, a height of 37 m is overcome per lock passage in around three minutes. Thanks to the new vertical lift, even larger cargo ships will be able to navigate the Oder-Havel waterway from October 2022.

Werner Sobek was responsible for the approval planning of the supporting structure for this spectacular project (in a joint venture with Lahmeyer International GmbH).
