Fallen Sky Skultptur im Gras

Landscape with Celestial Body

What looks like the glittering remains of a meteorite on the grounds of the Storm King Art Centre in New Windsor (NY) is a remarkable sculpture by Sarah Sze. The Chinese-American artist has crafted her site-specific artwork, appropriately named “Fallen Sky“, from a variety of materials, including rubbish found on site. The resulting round shape was embedded in the ground; protruding parts were clad with mirrored stainless steel. Werner Sobek was responsible for the technical services as well as the light and glare protection analysis for this exciting project.
