Perseverance, Recognition and the Benefits of Interdisciplinary Collaboration
In an interview with “madamearchitect.org“, our colleague Enrica Oliva talks about her projects, her career as a facade engineer and her work as a guest lecturer. She sees her role as a facade engineer as the “strongest partner and advocate” of the planner, who must be involved from the outset in order to “develop solid and well thought-out ideas”. The New York office manager advises young women in particular, who are at the beginning of their career in the construction industry, to persevere in pursuing their goal, to be proud of their contribution as a woman and to get the recognition they deserve.
Enrica Oliva has led the Special Structures and Facades team at Werner Sobek New York since 2017 and is currently a visiting professor at Pratt Institute.
Since 2020, “madamearchitect.org” has been answering questions about women in architecture, from motherhood to practice to study.
