Saving Resources thanks to Gradient Concrete
The farewell lecture of our company founder Werner Sobek in May 2023 was the occasion for a veritable “Werner Sobek Special” in the renowned trade journal “Beton- und Stahlbetonbau“: as many as six articles in issue 5/2023 were penned by various of our colleagues.
The first is a seven-page illustrated article by Werner Sobek and Daniel Schmeer on the second generation of gradient concrete. Invented by Werner Sobek, the building material with the pore structure of a sponge is characterised above all by its lightness and simultaneous stability. By using gradient concrete, significant savings in material and in grey emissions can be achieved compared to conventional reinforced concrete.
