SOM Foundation Honours Werner Sobek

At the recently held International Research and Design Forum of the SOM Foundation in Stuttgart, Werner Sobek was honoured as a “brilliant engineer, architect and environmentalist”. The reason given for this honour was that Werner Sobek “has dedicated his career to innovation”.

The aim of the SOM Foundation, founded in 1979, is to bring together and support ambitious designers and planners. The annual awards support students and lecturers in the fields of architecture, landscape architecture, interior design, urban planning and engineering in research work that can contribute to shaping our future.

Werner Sobek received the Foundation’s “Fazlur Rahman Khan International Fellowship” as early as 1983.
