The ALSTERGATE in Hamburg
On an area of 2,485 m², the 50 m high ALSTERGATE is being built in the Hamburg district of Hohenfelde according to a design by gmp Architekten. The curved, Z-shaped building forms a new urban focal point near Hamburg’s city centre.
External sun protection measures and opaque façade areas reduce solar radiation and thus provide high-quality thermal insulation. Lighting control reduces electricity requirements to a minimum. The building is to achieve the LEED Gold standard as part of a sustainability certification.
Werner Sobek is responsible for the façade planning, thermal building physics, building acoustics, thermal-dynamic building simulation and thermal bridge simulation.
