The Formula of Architecture
Until November 7, 2021, the Arsenal Center in Nizhniy Novgorod, Russia, will host the exhibition “Shukhov – the Formula of Architecture”. The exhibition focuses on the Russian engineer Vladimir Shukhov. The exhibition highlights his work as well as his significance for engineering and architecture in the 20th and 21st centuries. Shukhov pioneered the use of lightweight diagonal structures in Russia. In addition to Shukhov’s work, the exhibition features works by Frei Otto, Werner Sobek, and Buckminster Fuller, each of whom built on Shukhov’s legacy in different ways.
ILEK (Institute for Lightweight Design and Construction) and Werner Sobek AG supported the preparations for this exhibition, which was previously on display in Moscow. More information about the exhibition is available here.
