TKT – Saving Resources with a Membrane Envelope
An article by Werner Sobek and Holger Hinz in the American magazine “TAD” (Technology, Architecture + Design) is dedicated to our project TKT (ThyssenKrupp Testturm) in Rottweil – the focus is on the textile envelope of the building, which is not only important for the design, but also leads to a significant saving of resources for the supporting structure.
The tower was designed by Werner Sobek with Helmut Jahn. It is used for testing and certifying high-speed lifts. The TKT is one of the tallest structures and also the highest viewing platform in Germany.
