Transparent Tram Stops for Dresden
Following the example of the “Wiener Platz” station, also designed by Werner Sobek, two more tram stops were recently completed in Dresden. The stops “Kesselsdorfer Straße” and “Bahnhof Strehlen/Oskarstraße” are reduced steel and glass constructions that blend harmoniously into the streetscape. The supporting structure of the glass roofs consists of steel swords and a torsion tube; all supporting elements are located above the glazing. The tram stops thus offer several passenger shelters with roof, back and side glazing. We are very pleased to have contributed to the cityscape of Dresden with our glass roofs.
