We Must also Face Seemingly Unsolvable Problems!
In his penultimate thesis, Werner Sobek takes up Peter Slowterdijk’s thoughts on humanity’s signature of being confronted with seemingly insoluble problems that it nevertheless has to solve.
On the issue of climate change, we are also faced with a seemingly insoluble problem that we must solve promptly, even though the challenges involved are enormous. These include changing the energy supply, refraining from the emission of climate-damaging gases and providing clean water and food for all people.
Until the end of October 2022, the Architekturzentrum in the Stadtmuseum Düsseldorf is showing the exhibition “Werner Sobek: 17 Statements”. It deals with the ecological impact and responsibility of the building industry.
