We Must Take Responsibility

In its latest issue, the magazine “Cicero” published a ranking of the “500 most important intellectuals” in the German-speaking world. We are very pleased that our company founder Prof. Werner Sobek is included in these ranks (in 229th place) – but at the same time we ask ourselves: Why are there no other planners in this list? The building industry plays a central role in climate change and resource depletion as well as in the development of our cities and numerous other central issues of our society. Architects and engineers have a lot to contribute to solving the problems we face – why haven’t they been heard more in society at large so far? Let’s hope that this will change soon and that the next edition of the ranking will feature many more designers and thought leaders from the built environment than before.
