We Need to Plant Meadows and Forests on a Large Scale
Werner Sobek is convinced that phasing out the emission of climate-damaging gases cannot be achieved by reducing them alone. What is needed is compensation to offset unavoidable emissions.
However, since no technical means are available to date, massive reforestation and new meadows must finally be planted in Germany as well. In China and even Ethiopia, arable land is already being converted into pastureland on a large scale and new forests are being planted.
There should be no question of return on investment in this issue.
Until the end of October 2022, the Architekturzentrum in the Stadtmuseum Düsseldorf is showing the exhibition “Werner Sobek: 17 Statements” deals with the ecological impact and responsibility of the building industry.
