Well Equipped for the Future: CWE MetroLink Station St. Louis

For the extension and refurbishment of the CWE MetroLink Station in St. Louis, Werner Sobek New York was responsible for the structural engineering of the platform canopy as well as the facade engineering of the new Welcome Center, the lift and the canopy.

The MetroLink Central West End station is located in the middle of the medical campus of Washington University. It is the busiest station on the local transit system and has struggled with high ridership since its completion in the 1990s.

After the refurbishment, the station is ready for the future and provides visitors, residents and the university’s affiliates with much improved connections to some of the region’s most popular neighbourhoods.
