Without Combustion Processes, without Emissions, without Waste
For Werner Sobek, the greatest possible dematerialisation, high aesthetics and optimal engineering are at the heart of his work. In this video he explains why he began to make the future recycling of our buildings a core topic of his research and teaching back in the early 1990s. Following the principle of “zero fossil energy, zero emissions, zero waste”, he developed the “Triple Zero” concept as a rule of thumb for sustainable building as early as 1997.
On 25 May 2023, after almost three decades of teaching at the University of Stuttgart, Werner Sobek gave his farewell lecture to an audience of around 900. After around 90 minutes, Werner Sobek said goodbye to the stage for the last time as a lecturer to a standing ovation. For all those who were unable to attend, we have documented the event and are now showing various excerpts from Werner Sobek’s speech. In the second film, Werner Sobek talks about “Triple Zero” and the recyclability of newly constructed buildings.
