World’s Largest Curved Insulating Glass Panels: The Messeturm in Frankfurt am Main
The renovations to the Frankfurt Messeturm have transformed the lobby into an area flooded with light: The entire thermal envelope of the area was fitted with a glass projection. With a remarkable height of 17 m, the curved insulating glass panels surpass all previous examples worldwide.
In terms of technology, the limits of what is possible and permissible were explored during the conversion of the Frankfurt “pencil” planned by Helmut Jahn in 1991.
