Bettrather Straße Bridge
The increasingly dilapidated Bettrather Straße bridge will be replaced by a new structure made of recycled steel with separate lanes for cyclists and pedestrians. Until now, the crossing from the city centre of Mönchengladbach to the parks and green spaces in the north was only possible for pedestrians and cyclists on one shared lane.
Seating Invites You to Linger
The walkways on both sides of the bridge create sufficient space for crossing. In their centre, spacious seating with aesthetically designed, comfortable wooden surfaces invite people to linger. For cyclists, a separate traffic lane is created between the two footpaths.
Shape Adapted to the Course of Forces
The bridge superstructure is a steel construction with a hermetically welded trough cross-section, which is characterised by a shape adapted to the course of the forces.
