Borusan Istanbul

Two parallel, multi-storey blocks form the building complex of the car dealership for the BMW dealer Borusan Oto near Istanbul. Werner Sobek designed a new facade for both buildings. The design had to take into account the CI specifications of various car brands, including BMW, MINI, Jaguar and Land Rover.

Exciting Contrast: Concrete Texture and Textile-Clad Glass Facade

The panel facade of the southern part of the building was developed from the manufacturers’ specifications. In the northern part of the building, the representative glass facade along the main road is clad with a textile membrane on the upper floors. The membrane surfaces, which are up to 80 m long and 10 m wide, together with the mullion and transom facade below form an exciting contrast to the rough concrete texture of the base storey.

The Borusan Oto car dealership creates sales areas for new and used cars, as well as workshops for various manufacturers on a total of 59,700 m².
