Ems Bridge K2

Werner Sobek was tasked with designing a new bridge to cross the River Ems between Saerbeck and Emsdetten in the Steinfurt district of North Rhine-Westphalia. Upon completion, the bridge will traverse the river’s floodplain in an even arc that exhibits a constant longitudinal incline.

Project Planning & Structural Engineering from the Same Provider

After examining several options, the decision was made in favor of a bridge for cars, bicycles and pedestrians with a steel composite superstructure and tree-like supports.
