Harbour Office
The SIGN! office building in Düsseldorf has a floor plan of approx. 51 x 20 m and a height of approx. 76 m (20 full storeys). Under the high-rise building is a four-storey underground car park (floor area approx. 5,341 m² GFA). Architect Helmut Jahn designed and realised the striking building from 2007 to 2010, Werner Sobek was responsible for the supporting structure and facade engineering.
Rounded Rectangle with Scale-Shaped Glass Facade
The ground plan of SIGN! has the shape of a rounded rectangle, which not only allows a high level of daylight to enter, but also takes away the solidity of the entire building. The external appearance is characterised by the 453-tonne, scale-shaped glass facade. It is also part of the elaborate energy concept.
