Werner Sobek was responsible for the structural engineering of the new library’s atrium of the Technical University in Monterrey, Mexico. It is covered by an ultra-light steel membrane construction.

ETFE-Membrane Serves as Rain and Sun Protection

This roof has a total area of approx. 630 m² and consists of a printed ETFE membrane. It is supported by steel girders and serves as rain and sun protection at the same time. The project name “La Hoja” (Spanish for “leaf”) is derived from the image motifs printed on the membrane.
