Logistics and Training Centre Trumpf
In the immediate vicinity of the Trumpf headquarters in Ditzingen, approx. 14,000 m² of hall and office space became available due to the relocation of a company. This space was extensively renovated and now serves Trumpf as a service centre. Werner Sobek was commissioned with the structural engineering for the project.
Conversion Into a Modern Logistics & Training Centre
In order to meet the new requirements, new ceilings in composite construction were installed in the office building. Existing foundations had to be reinforced by means of underpinning because the load-bearing capacity was insufficient. Individual ceilings subject to high loads were reinforced from below using doweled shotcrete.
The building received new staircases, for which adjacent ceilings had to be systematically reinforced due to the resulting large-scale cut-outs. The hall area received an additional crane runway with cantilever arms; the existing hall structures no longer allowed for additional loads. Because the existing office space was not sufficient, the existing building was extended by a four-storey, very slim office extension in reinforced concrete construction.
