Railway Basel-Wiesekorridor

Werner Sobek is responsible for the checking engineering including construction supervision as part of the inspection (on behalf of checking engineer Prof. Hans Georg Reinke / Dr.-Ing. Jens U. Neuser).

The structure with a total length of 154 metres is designed as a semi-integral, six-span prestressed concrete bridge –the piers are monolithically connected to the superstructure. The foundation is a deep foundation with large bored piles in all pier axes.

Cross-Border Bridgestructure for More Efficient Freight Transport

The railway overpass Wiesekorridor is part of the major Deutsche Bahn Karlsruhe-Basel project. It connects Germany with Switzerland and forms the last section of the new double-track railway line before the Basel railway station.
