Rothenbaum Stadium
In 1999, the Rothenbaum Stadium in Hamburg was given a unique roof in the course of renovation work. The filigree steel construction has a span of 100 x 100 m without supports.
Weather Protection for Germany’s Largest Tennis Stadium
The roof skin consists of a textile membrane with a total area of approx. 8,500 m². Of this, 3,500 m² can be opened or closed within five minutes, depending on the weather.
Werner Sobek was responsible for the structural engineering of the roof structure.
