Sarah Oppenheimer

The art project C-010106 by artist Sarah Oppenheimer was commissioned by “Landmarks“, the public art programme of the University of Texas at Austin. The work was created at the same time as the neighbouring bridge that connects two institutes on the campus. Werner Sobek supported the art project in the area of structural engineering.

Supporting Structure for a Sculpture

Sarah Oppenheimer’s sculpture consists of a pair of dynamic openings in the bridge and angled, reflective surfaces embedded between panes of glass. The positioning of the openings and the reflections enable a new and unexpected change of view between the people on and under the bridge.
