Sedus Stoll AG
The Sedus Stoll company had a new building constructed for the development and production of office furniture in the immediate vicinity of its headquarters in Waldshut-Tiengen. The building forms a link between a housing estate on the outskirts of Dogern and the Sedus Stoll AG company premises.
Transparent Facade, Column-Free Upper Floor
The facades of the new building are clad with textile elements. By superimposing the individual elements, different degrees of transparency or translucency are created, depending on the viewing angle and brightness, giving the building an almost immaterial lightness. An applied staircase leads from the foyer to the plateau of the 1st floor, which is designed as a “one-room” with an inserted conference core.
Werner Sobek was responsible for the structural engineering of this project.
